Zusammenfassung

Synonyma: Oidium albicans (Robin 1853), Monilia Candida (Plaut 1886), Monilia albicans (Brumpt), Endomyces albicans. Diese letztere Benennung stammt von Vuillemin, der 1899 beim Soorpilz viersporige Asken nachwies und deshalb den Pilz den Askomyceten einordnete). Buschke reiht mit Ota den Soor bei der Klasse „Debaromyces“ (Klöcker) ein, die zu den Askomyceten gehört.
