Zusammenfassung

Die Lokalanästhesie erstrebt eine reversible, örtlich begrenzte Ausschaltung der Schmerzempfindung. Dieses Ziel kann auf verschiedenem Wege erreicht werden. Einwirkung von Kälte, Druck auf die Nervenstämme, stärkere osmotische Veränderungen der Gewebsflüssigkeit vermögen beispielsweise in mehr oder minder vollkommener Weise die Schmerzempfindung zu vermindern oder aufzuheben.
