Zusammenfassung
In Systemen homogener metallischer Leiter besteht eine reziproke Verknüpfung zwischen dem Auftreten von Wärmestrom und elektrischem Strom. Charakteristisch für diese „thermoelektrischen Prozesse“ ist die Tatsache, daß sich mit der Richtung der Primärerscheinung, also z. B. des Wärmestromes, auch die der Sekundärerscheinung, in diesem Falle des elektrischen Stromes, umkehrt.
