Zusammenfassung
Im folgenden wird von der Lichtstrahlung des Bogens nur soweit die Rede sein, als es sich um die Strahlung der Gassäule handelt. Die Emission der Lichtbogenelektroden wie auch ihre technische Verwendung findet man in der Abteilung B dieses Bandes behandelt. Dort sind auch die Fragen besprochen, die die Temperatur der festen Elektroden und den Vergleich ihrer Strahlung mit derjenigen des schwarzen Körpers betreffen. Man vergleiche besonders Kapitel 20. Für die elektrischen Eigenschaften des Lichtbogens vom Standpunkte der Lehre von den Gasentladungen aus wird auf Bd. XIV, besonders auf das von A. Hagenbach verfaßte Kapitel 6 über die Bogenentladung verwiesen. Eine ungeheure Menge von Einzelheiten über spektrale Erscheinungen bei der Bogenentladung gehören der speziellen Spektroskopie an. Ein Teil davon wird in Bd. XXI behandelt, wenn von den Spektren der Elemente die Rede ist. Ein anderer Teil findet überhaupt nicht in einem Handbuche der allgemeinen Physik Platz, sondern ist in den der Spektroskopie der einzelnen Elemente gewidmeten Bänden des Handbuches der Spektroskopie von H. Kayser und H. Konen, Bd. V, VI, VII. Leipzig 1900–1927 nachzusehen1). Hier werden somit nur die allgemeinen Tatsachen der Bogenemission besprochen, und zwar vom optischen Standpunkte aus.
