Zusammenfassung

Elsberg gab 1926 eine Übersicht über 179 Fälle von extraduralen Spinaltumoren. Die metastatischen Wirbeltumoren machen bekanntlich einen sehr bedeutenden Kontingent dieser Gruppe aus. Aber auch mit Ausschluß der Metastasen sind die extraduralen Geschwülste mit Rückenmarksschädigung in nahezu der Hälfte der Fälle (48%) sekundär, in dem Sinne, daß sie ihren Ursprung 1. in den Wirbeln, 2. in den paravertebralen Weichteilen der Halsoder Rückenregion, 3. im Cavum thoracis, mit Einwachsen durch ein Zwischenwirbelloch haben. Meningiome und Neurinome, die vorwiegend operablen Formen juxtamedullärer Geschwülste, machen 82% der intra-gegenüber 17% der extraduralen Spinaltumoren aus. Sarkome und Chondrome stellen 6% jener, gegenüber 61% dieser Gruppe dar. Der kapitale Unterschied. In bezug auf Operabilität geht aus diesen Zahlen ohne weiteres hervor. Hier die Synopsis Elsbergs.
