Zusammenfassung

In den letzten Jahren wird in Europa das Drüsenfieber wieder entdeckt. Wir erleben das merkwürdige Ereignis, daß fast gleichzeitig an verschiedenen Orten des Kontinents dieselbe Affektion neu beschrieben wird, als eine durch eigenartige Symptome und typischen Verlauf gut charakterisierte Krankheitsentität, die nun als selbständige Infektionskrankheit ihren Platz in der Pathologie bekommen soll. Fast einstimmig wird dieser neue Morbus mit dem Pfeifferschen Drüsenfieber identifiziert und so erlebt dieses nach 40 Jahren der Vergessenheit seine Auferstehung.
