Abstract

The Object Oriented Paradigm appeared with Simula (1967), but is mainly known from Smalltalk (1972). It becomes more and more important every day and we will try to show, in this paper, that it is more general than a simple interesting language construction. With their encapsulation and communication capabilities, the Object Oriented Languages (OOL) have some relations with the other modern languages like Ada. They can, in some cases, be considered as the support of programming methodologies and one can speak about Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
