Zusammenfassung
Diese exanthematische Infektionskrankheit des Säuglings und Kleinkindes beginnt plötzlich mit hohem Fieberanstieg, dauert 3–5 Tage und endet mit einem bei kritischer Entfieberung auftretenden generalisierten, hellroten Exanthem. Die Erkrankung imponiert zunächst als schwere Infektion, bis mit dem Exanthem die entscheidende Wende zum Guten eintritt. Die Symptomentrias kritische Entfieberung, blasses, generalisiertes Exanthem und relative Lymphomonozytose bei Leukopenie begründet klinisch die Krankheitseinheit.
