Zusammenfassung
Es handelt sich um fleckfieberähnliche akute fieberhafte Infektionskrankheiten, die durch Schildzecken sporadisch auf den Menschen übertragen werden. Aber nicht nur in epidemiologischer Hinsicht bilden die Zeckenbißfieber eine gesonderte Gruppe unter den Rickettsiosen. Ihre respektiven Erreger lassen eine nahe biologische Verwandtschaft erkennen. Vertreter dieser Gruppe finden sich in der alten Welt, der neuen Welt und in Australien.
