Über die bilaterale Implantation von Iris-Clip-Linsen

Zusammenfassung

Der Prozentsatz doppelseitig implantierter Iris-Clip-Linsen betrug an der Univ.-Augenklinik Mainz in den letzten Jahren etwa 10% aller Linsenimplantationen mit in jüngster Zeit steigender Tendenz.

Anhand einiger Patientenschicksale wird die Indikation zur Zweitlinsenimplantation erläutert. Maßgebend für den Entschluß zur Implantation einer Linse am zweiten Auge sind die einwandfreie Verträglichkeit der erstimplantierten Linse, Unmöglichkeit der Handhabung einer Kontaktlinse, die berufliche und die soziale Indikation.

Weiterhin werden die Ergebnisse bei 15 nachuntersuchten Patienten unter besonderer Berücksichtigung der binokularen Funktionen geschildert.

The percentage of bilateral implantations of iris-clip lenses at the University Eye Clinic in Mainz during the past years was mainly about 10% with an increasing marge during latest time.

The indication for a bilateral implantation is demonstrated by the history of various patients. The decision to implant an intraocular lens into the second eye depends on the absence of any complications after the implantation into the first eye. In some cases we are urged to do a second-eye implantation because of the patient’s impossibility to manage a contact lens. Some other indications are depending on the patient’s profession or other social circumstances.

The results of 15 patients with a bilateral iris clip-lens are shown up, especially the binocular functions.
