Uveitis

Summary

After some considerations about the necessity for an immunosuppressive therapy in severe uveitis, the currently available drugs are listed, with special reference to cyclophosphamide and procarbazine, the drug combination actually used at the University Eye Clinic in Zurich. The absolute and relative indications for these therapies are given as well as the obtained results. For the 15–20% failures, alternative treatment such as immunostimulation or surgery is proposed.
