Keratoplastik mit Kreuzstichnaht

Zusammenfassung

In einem Trickfilm wird das Prinzip der Kreuzstichnaht bei perforierender Keratoplastik erläutert. Die Kreuzstichnaht besteht aus 2 fortlaufenden diagonalen Nähten, die sich im Bereich des Wundspaltes überkreuzen und auf diese Weise zu einem wasserdichten Wundverschluß führen. Der übrige Teil des Films demonstriert die Entfernung der Hornhautsklerascheibe aus dem Spenderauge nach der üblichen Augenbanktechnik, die Hornhautkonservierung und die Operation am Patientenauge. Neben dem wesentlichen Vorteil der guten Adaptation des Wundspaltes wird als weiterer Vorteil der Kreuzstichnaht die Sicherheit dieser Operationstechnik im Falle einer Fadenkomplikation genannt.

The principle of cross stitch suture in perforating keratoplasty is explained in an animated cartoon. Cross stitch suture consists of 2 running diagonal sutures crossing in the area of the wound fissure, thus leading to a waterproof wound closure. The rest of the film demonstrates the removal of the corneal skiera from the donor eye according to the commonly used eye bank technique, the conservation of the cornea and the operation on the patient’s eye. Besides the cross stitch suture’s substantial advantage of good adaptation of the wound fissure, the safety of this surgical technique in case of complications involving the sutures is mentioned as a further advantage.
