Abstract
For urban planning purposes information at different scales is needed, ranging from the management of small habitats to entire urban agglomerations. Spatial typologies can help to structure data and provide an overview. In this chapter an urban ecological typology is presented, which is based on homogeneous units of the physical structure — Urban Structural Units (USU).
