Zusammenfassung

Zweimal in den letzten 15 Jahren wurden von Fachleuten auf dem biologischen Gebiete überraschend falsche Voraussagen gemacht. Früh in den 50er Jahren wurde eine zufriedenstellende Herz-Lungen-Maschine als Unmöglichkeit betrachtet; Homotransplantation von Geweben im Menschen wurde als ein visionärer Traum angesehen. In dieser kurzen Zeitspanne wurde gezeigt, daß beides möglich war.
