Abstract
Cyclic carbonate units consisting of stromatoporoid biostromes overlain by pellet limestones with cryptalgal and fen- estral fabrics occur in the Pillara Formation (Devonian), Canning Basin, Western Australia (Read, 1973). About 70 cyclic units, 2 to 10 meters thick, occur at the type section in the Pillara Range. Part of the sequence at the type section is shown in Figure 29-1A; an idealized cyclic unit is shown in Figure 29-1B.
