Abstract

A survey of some of the biochemical changes promoted by androgens is presented in Table 12. The literature available on this subject is prodigious and the contents of Table 12 were selected to raise general points of importance only. In general terms, all the intracellular constituents of male accessory sexual glands are maintained by processes with early responses to androgens but taking considerable further time to reach their maxima.
