Abstract
Therapeutic decision making in nearly every field of medicine is based on evidence obtained in previous clinical trials. These trials frequently are fraught with labor-intensive paperwork and discarded data due to nonadherence to study protocols. The traditional way of accruing these data includes filling out and mailing or faxing the study forms, a word-of-mouth spread of information about the trial, and limited immediate study feedback to participating patients and physicians about the progress and results of the study.
