Zusammenfassung

Die Hauptaufgabe der Informationstheorie in der einfachsten Form ist die Kennzeichnung der Nachrichten einer gegebenen Nachrichtenmenge durch Zeichen eines gegebenen Vorrats, die in räumlich oder zeitlich vorgeschriebener Weise verwendet werden dürfen. Der Zweck ist meistens die räumliche oder zeitliche Übermittlung. Um das Wichtigste dieser umfangreichen und komplexen Begriffswelt klarzumachen, werden typische Beispiele behandelt.
