Zusammenfassung

Das rheumatische Fieber, das in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten in Nord- und Mitteleuropa nur noch ausgesprochen selten und dann meist in seiner blanden Form vorkommt, wird seit einiger Zeit in der deutschsprachigen Medizin entsprechend seiner Ätiologie auch als Streptokokkenrheumatismus bezeichnet. Weitere Synonyma sind 1. Morbus rheumaticus, 2. rheumatische Infektion, 3. akuter Gelenkrheumatismus, 4. akute Polyarthritis, 3. Rheumatismus verus und 6. Morbus Bouillaud.
