Zusammenfassung

Es ist allgemein anerkannt, daß ein intensiver, protrahierter, psychoemotioneller Streß, selbstverständlich nebst genetischen, nutritiven, metabolischen und endokrinen Faktoren in der Ätiopathogenese kardiovaskulärer Erkrankungen eine bedeutende Rolle spielt Aber die Ansichten über die eigentliche Ursache gehen auseinander und wahrscheinlich handelt es sich um eine Gruppierung mehrerer Ursachen. Die Tatsache, daß wir vorläufig über die Mechanismen des psychoemotionellen Stresses wenig wissen, erschwert noch eine nähere Beleuchtung des Problems. Streßbedingte somatische Schäden vom Standpunkt kardiovaskulärer Erkrankungen gesehen wurden sehr eingehend von J. Charvat, dem führenden tschechoslowakischen Internisten, diskutiert. Komplex werden diese Fragen in der physiologisch orientierten Monographie von E. Gellhorn und G. N. Loofbourow behandelt.
