Abstract

Does stress influence the prevalence and incidence of neurotic and psychotic decompensations? As yet, this question has not been answered definitively. It is, indeed, difficult to answer. As an overview of the psychiatric literature shows, the fact that it is rarely asked in this form may be a basic reason why it has not been answered.
