Abstract

There must exist 16 linearly independent 4 × 4 matrices which we denote by \( (\hat \Gamma ^n )_{\alpha \beta } \). It turns out that one can construct 16 (a complete set) of these \(\overset{\lower0.5em\hbox{$\smash{\scriptscriptstyle\frown}$}}{\Gamma } _n \left( {n = 1, \ldots ,16} \right) \) from the Dirac matrices and their products.
