There is an agreement between various authors and authorities that today’s most pervasive generic technology is information technology. It penetrates into all branches of economy, without exemption, and has an impact on all phases of every enterprise. No other known technology has diffused so deeply in so dissimilar sectors such as: industry and offices, traffic and banks, science and health care, education and publishing. Needless to say, the significant part of this diffusion process is related to real-time computing.
