Zusammenfassung
Im Laufe der Jahre hat man eine Anzahl Beispiele gefunden, in denen in heterozygoten Individuen die beiden Glieder eines Genpaares nicht unabhängig voneinander existieren, sondern einander in erblicher Form beeinflussen. Das erste Beispiel von dieser Art wurde von Renner (1959) bei Oenothera analysiert. Das rezessive Gen er (cruciata) bedingt eine starke Verschmälerung der vier Kronblätter, so daß die Blüten die Form eines Kreuzes haben. Die homozygote Mutante cr cr ist ebenso wie die homozygote Normalform Cr Cr völlig konstant. In Heterozygoten Cr cr dagegen findet man neben normalen Blüten auch solche mit mehr oder minder ausgeprägter Kreuzform. Renner erklärte diese Labilität der Blütenform mit der Annahme, daß in den Heterozygoten das rezessive Allel häufig das dominante Allel zur Mutation Cr → cr induziert, so daß in den Vegetationspunkten cr cr-Zellen und aus solchen wieder homozygot rezessive Gewebekomplexe entstehen. Andererseits kann unter gewissen Umständen der umgekehrte Prozeß stattfinden, indem Cr das rezessive Allel zur Mutation cr → Cr veranlaßt. Eine solche genetische Beeinflussung zweier Allele, die meist einseitig in bestimmter Richtung erfolgt, seltener wie im obigen Beispiel in beiden Richtungen, hat man im Anschluß an eine bekannte Theorie von Winkler (1930) als Konversion bezeichnet.
