Zusammenfassung
Bei der Entwicklung der Kulturpflanzen hat offenbar Massenselektion eine bedeutende Rolle gespielt. Hierunter versteht man Formen von Selektion, bei der die Samen der nach gewissen Gesichtspunkten ausgelesenen Pflanzen als Mischung ausgesät werden. Für autogame Gewächse spielt diese Methode heutzutage höchstens eine untergeordnete Rolle.
