A Plea for Primary Hemicolectomy in Perforated Cancer of the Right Colon

The simultaneous occurrence of carcinoma of the colon and perforation of the same represents a double threat for the patient’s life; the second being the more dangerous. Whether complicated by an abscess or by diffuse peritonitis, it is the perforation that determines the state of emergency.
