Zusammenfassung

Bekanntlich wurde das Problem der Virusätiologie der Mäuseleukämien seit der grundlegenden Entdeckung von Gross [1] im Jahre 1951 von verschiedenen Forscherteams in den USA und Europa intensiv bearbeitet. Diese Untersuchungen führten zum Nachweis einer Reihe nahe verwandter Viren [1–11], die bei der Maus und Ratte hämatologisch verschiedene Leukämieformen auslösen (Tabelle 1). Gleichzeitig erbrachten diese Experimente eine große Zahl von detaillierten Ergebnissen über Struktur und Vermehrungsweise dieser Viren, ihre biologischen, biochemischen und immunologischen Eigenschaften, ihre Wirkungsweise im Organismus und auf die Zellen sowie über einige epidemiologische Besonderheiten.
