Abstract

Vibrational linesnapes observed by isotropic spontaneous Raman scattering are broadened by homogeneous and inhomogeneous processes. Consequently, the vibrational correlation function must be expressed as a product of two correlation functions:

$$ \phi \,\left( t \right)\,{\text{ }} = {\text{ }}\,\phi _H \left( t \right)\,\phi \,_{INH} \left( t \right) $$
