Zusammenfassung

Francis Crick verdanken wir nicht nur den richtigen Vorschlag für die Raumstruktur der DNA, sondern auch Wesentliches zum Verständnis der Funktion der Nucleinsäuren. Aufgrund der heutigen Erkenntnisse ist sicherlich die Feststellung richtig, daß die DNA für alle echten Lebensformen das wichtigste Molekül ist und daß das Verständnis ihres Stoffwechsels und ihrer Funktion die Grundlage für das Verständnis der Lebensvorgänge bildet.
