Zusammenfassung
Das hypothalamisch-hypophysäre System stellt zusammen mit seinen Zielgeweben ein komplexes neuroendokrines System dar, das die Funktionsfähigkeitelementarer Vorgänge wie Wachstum, Fortpflanzung oder adäquate Reaktion auf Streßsitutionen garantiert. Das System besteht aus dem Hypothalamus, dem Hypophysenvorderlappen und verschiedenen hormonproduzierenden peripheren Geweben wie der Schilddrüse, der Zona fasciculata der Nebennierenrinde, den Gonaden (Hoden bzw. Ovar) und der Leber.
