Zusammenfassung

Die Lipide stellen eine Gruppe chemisch sehr verschiedener Verbindungen dar, die als gemeinsames Merkmal eine mehr oder minder stark ausgeprägte Hydrophobizität haben (S.56). Von besonderer Bedeutung für den Zellstoffwechsel sind die Triacylglycerine, die als Energiespeicher v. a. im Fettgewebe abgelagert werden. Sie werden mit der Nahrung aufgenommen oder können aus Kohlenhydraten synthetisiert werden. Bei ihrem Abbau entstehen nichtveresterte Fettsäuren, die zu CO2 und H2O oxidiert oder in Ketonkörper umgewandelt werden können.
