Die bekannten Wirkungen der niedrigen Alkoholspiegel im Blut faßt Elbel stichwortartig zusammen, nämlich Verlust der Besonnenheit, Zunahme der Risikobereitschaft, Kritikschwäche und Persönlichkeitsdegradierung. Die gleichzeitig vorhandenen Schädigungen des motorischen und sensorischen Leistungsvermögens aktualisieren die latente Gefahr und können sie zum Unfall konkretisieren.
