Durch die Blockade des Plexus brachialis werden alle Gewebe der oberen Extremität und die Haut distal der Mitte des Oberarmes unempfindlich. So können Luxationen oder Frakturen des Humerus schmerzlos reponiert, Sehnen genäht und Wunden versorgt werden.
