Abstract

Ultrasonography was first used in obstetrics and gynecology in 1958 by Donald, and it has undergone several developments since then. Both transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasonography (TVUS) are used in gynecology. The transabdominal approach gives a more panoramic view of the pelvis, but TVUS offers several advantages in gynecology.
