Zusammenfassung
Gemeinsam mit den Menisken und dem vorderen und hinteren meniskofemoralen Band bilden die Kreuzbänder den sog. zentralen Komplex des Kniegelenkes. Das vordere und hintere Kreuzband stellen dabei die zentralen passiven Führungselemente dar. Sie sind als kinematisches Grundgerüst des Kniegelenkes ganz wesentlich am Zustandekommen einer physiologischen Roll-Gleit-Bewegung beteiligt.
