Zusammenfassung
Als beweglichstes Gelenk des menschlichen Körpers stellt die Schulter eine zentrale Verbindung zwischen Rumpf und Hand dar. Nur bei intakter, schmerzfreier Schultergelenksfunktion ist es dem Menschen möglich, seine Hand als wertvolles Werkzeug in allen Ebenen voll einzusetzen. Mit einem Anteil von ca. 50% aller Gelenkluxationen ist die Schulter am häufigsten betroffen. Etwa 1,7% der Bevölkerung müssen damit rechnen, im Laufe ihres Lebens an einer symptomatischen Schulterinstabilität zu erkranken (Hovelius 1996).
