Numerous methods for solving systems problems are discussed and briefly summarized by type. These methods are categorized as to the nature of the problems, the number of solutions and the number of outcomes associated with each approach.
An overview of the applicability of these approaches is then presented. Reference is made to a number of applications of multiple criteria decision making in defense.
