Zusammenfassung
Die Therapie der Wahl ist die operative Entfernung der Tumoren. Die medikamentöse Therapie ist angezeigt während der präoperativen Diagnostik, wenn aufgrund des schlechten Allgemeinzustands oder ernsterer Kontraindikationen eine Operation nicht möglich ist oder wenn der Tumor bzw. seine Metastasen operativ nicht beseitigt werden können. Ziel der medikamentösen Therapie ist die Hemmung der Sekretion oder der Wirkung des Hormons, das die klinische Symptomatik bedingt. Neben dieser antisekretorischen und antihormonalen Therapie ist bei metastasierenden malignen Tumoren eine zytostatische Therapie notwendig.
