Da das Stuhlverhalten sehr variiert, ist eine Definition der Diarrhö schwierig. Man kann von Diarrhö sprechen, wenn täglich mehr als 3 ungeformte Stühle abgesetzt werden und die tägliche Stuhlmenge mehr als 250 g wiegt.
