Abstract

Brillouin scattering has proved itself a powerful tool for studying acoustoelectric effects in piezoelectric semiconductors. Through its use we have been able to determine the detailed characteristics of the acoustic modes generated in a semiconductor under a variety of experimental conditions. This information should make it possible to construct more accurate models for acoustoelectric effects in the nonlinear regime.
