Abstract

We are only dealing with purely ligamentous instabilities with no damage to cartilage and bones in the original trauma. Posterolateral instabilities have more devastating functional consequences than other types of instabilities. The stability of the knee is always disturbed, sometimes to such an extent that the patient can only walk with the aid of one or two canes.
