Zusammenfassung

Es wird heute angenommen, daß die allgemeine oder lokale Verabreichung von Kortikoiden die mykotische Infektion, insbesondere die Augenmykosen, durch Verminderung der Abwehrreaktionen begünstigt. Es scheint, daß sie die Virulenz der Pilze erhöht und daß die gewöhnlich saprophyten Myzeten pathogen werden können, während sie unter normalen Bedingungen durch die humoralen und Gewebsabwehrreaktionen des Wirtes rasch zerstört werden.
