Zusammenfassung

Die Meningokokkeninfektionen sind menschliche Krankheiten durch die Meningococcus intracellularis. Sie zeigen sich klinisch gewöhnlich in drei umschriebenen Stadien:

  1. 1.

    dem Meningokokkenkatarrh, einer uncharakteristischen Entzündung der oberen Luftwege,

  2. 2.

    der Meningokokkenämie, manchmal übergehend in richtige Sepsis, und

  3. 3.

    der Meningokokkenmeningitis als häufigste Organlokalisation dieser Infektion.
