Zusammenfassung
Leptospirosen sind Erkrankungen durch Leptospiren, gekennzeichnet beim Menschen durch ein erstes septikämisches Stadium mit mehr oder weniger starker Toxikose und positiver Blutkultur, gefolgt von einem zweiten Stadium der Organschädigung mit entsprechender lokaler Krankheit (vor allem Hepatitis, Nephritis oder Meningitis serosa) und Auftreten von Antikörpern im Serum. Klinisch werden die schweren, oft malignen Leptospirosen mit Gelbsucht und Urämie bezeichnet als Morbus Weil oder infektiöser Ikterus, unterschieden von den leichteren anikterischen Formen, den benignen Leptospirosen. Die Leptospiren werden serologisch in einzelne Typen unterteilt, die von verschiedenen Wirtstieren direkt oder indirekt übertragen werden, so daß die Erkrankungen des Menschen meist Zoonosen sind. Entsprechend der tierischen Herkunft treffen die Erkrankungen vorwiegend bestimmte Berufe und weisen verschiedene geographische Verteilungen auf.
