Zusammenfassung
Anaerobe Bakterien, die keine Sporen bilden, sind sehr verbreitet. Sie werden in der Außenwelt, auf der Haut oder in den natürlichen Körperhöhlen von Mensch und Tier getroffen. Das vorliegende Kapitel befaßt sich mit solchen sporenlosen anaeroben Stäbchen (im folgenden als „spl. an St.“ bezeichnet), die in der Regel nicht aus dem Erdboden stammen und für den Menschen pathogen sind. Seit Veillon und VeillonZuber diese Erreger anerkannt haben (1897, 1898), hat man sie häufig bei den verschiedensteneitrigen Entzündungen getroffen. Jedoch lassen vielfach gewisse Schwierigkeiten bei der Isolierung und Identifizierung eine Diagnose scheitern.
