Abstract
“Man is flesh and blood and apprehensive.” So spoke Julius Caesar in Shakespeare’s play. Hamlet said that all that lives must die, passing through nature to eternity. These two poetic realities form the broad spectrum for the uses of hypnosis in anesthesiology.
