Zusammenfassung

Es ist heute fast auf den Tag 32 Jahre her, daß A. Biedl, einer der Altmeister der Endokrinologie, am 26. April 1922 auf dem Kongreß für Innere Medizin in Wiesbaden sein großes Referat über „Physiologie und Pathologie der Hypophyse“ hielt. Nichts kennzeichnet die seit dem erfolgte Ausweitung unserer Kenntnisse über dieses Organ besser, als die Tatsache, daß Biedl damals in seinem vielleicht zweistündigen Vortrag sowohl die Anatomie, Histologie und Entwicklungsgeschichte, als auch die Physiologie der Gesamt -hypophyse, die Chemie der Hvl— und Hhl—Extrakte und schließlich in großem Umfang auch die Klinik der Hypophysenerkrankungen behandeln und eine weitgehende Vollständigkeit erreichen konnte, während heute die gleiche Vortragszeit allein für 2 Referate über die Physiologie der Hvl—Hormone vorgesehen ist, und ich mir schon jetzt darüber im klaren bin, daß ich für meinen Teil sicher keineBiedlsche Vollständigkeit gewährleisten kann
