Zusammenfassung

Die vorliegende Beobachtung einer Candida-Endokarditis nach Zahnextraktionen liefert ein Beispiel dafür, daß Hefen von äußerst geringer Virulenz vorgeschädigte Herzklappen besiedeln und tödliche Sepsis verursachen können, wenn ihnen der Zugang ins Blut gleichsam gebahnt wird. Sie dokumentiert ferner, anscheinend zum ersten Male, eine durch klinische Behandlung erworbene Resistenz gegen Amphotericin B.
