Zusammenfassung
Die Einsparung von Formstoffen war seit jeher eines der wesentlichen Probleme des Gießers. Der sogenannte Sparkasten, dessen Umrisse dem Gußstücke (große Serien) an-gepaßt wird (Bd. II/1), so daß z. B. nur zweimal soviel Volumen an Formstoffen angewendet werden braucht, ist ein heute noch bewährter Vorläufer des Formschalenverfahrens, das seine letzte Entwicklungsstufe im Croning-Verfahren erreicht.
