Abstract

According to the World Health Organization definition, the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is based on the presence of at least two of the following three criteria:

  • A clinical history of ischemic-type chest discomfort

  • Changes on serially obtained electrocardiographic tracings

  • A rise and fall in serum cardiac markers
